shot tower

this is the shot tower in taroona, just outside of hobart. it was built in 1870 by joseph moir and was the tallest building in tasmania for over 100 years. it was used until 1905 to make lead shots and apparently it is the only circular stone shot tower in the southern hemisphere. at the bottom of the tower is a lovely stone building that used to be a factory. i think its a really beautiful spot.
