shoebox cafe is a gorgeous little spot that bb & i have been frequenting of late - it's only open on weekdays but that makes for a great reason to get up early. i love all their tasty treats but their egg & bacon roll with beetroot relish is especially delightful!

fresh on charles - eating spot
i love launceston. it's such a sweet town - full of interesting spots and people. one of those spots is fresh. i'd been a few times before and have always had some amazing vegetarian treats there but i was excited when i visited last time to see they had undertaken a monster makeover. the space is now even better than ever. they also have some onsite accommodation available - what a great addition.

another trip to the red velvet lounge

i am starting to see a theme emerge now i am finally going through my holiday photos – it was all about the foodie bits! i guess it's inevitable though, tassie has such amazing produce, especially in summer.
as my lovely buddy was visiting from queensland i really wanted to take her to my favourite eating spot in the valley so we made the trip to cygnet and spent an afternoon stuffing ourselves silly at the red velvet lounge.
it’s always amazing there and this visit was no exception. it was mid-afternoon when we stopped in so lots of little plates were in order. i’ve mostly been to the rvl in winter – it is always so cosy and the perfect spot to stay warm and enjoy an amazing soup or something similar.
this day was different, it was hot – probably one of the hottest days i’ve had in the twigs. the fans were whirling away overhead and the restaurant had a tropical feel to it. it was really a lovely afternoon and i can’t wait to head back super soon.

red bridge - coffee/eating spot
i recently visited this delight in campbell town. it's called red bridge and it's a staple stop on the drive from hobart to launceston. i've heard great things about it and i wasn't disappointed. amazing coffee, local treats and gorgeous surrounds. who wouldn't love it!

eating spot - ut si cafe
earlier in the week i had a divine breakfast from the ut si cafe. a beautiful spot in the little town of perth, just south of launceston. we were hurrying back to hobart, desperate for a coffee when we spotted the gorgeous old church. who knew we would find such tasty treats that early in the morning. a fabulous find.

coffee spot - yellow bernard
bb & i have been making daily visits to yellow bernard for a few months now. this tiny spot on collins street in hobart is definitely our new favourite for awesome coffee anytime during the working day...recently these guys were finalists in the hobart exceptional customer service awards. well deserved i say!

eating spot - ginger brown
as i mentioned recently, bb & i are really enjoying exploring hobart now that we are spending a bit more time in town. its lovely driving about looking at the sweet little houses & shops and occasionally stumbling upon something fabulous. this is how we came across a lovely spot in south hobart called ginger brown. the coffee was great as was our lunch. we will be visiting them again soon i'm sure.

coffee spot - pigeon hole
one of the greatest things about spending more time in town has been exploring our new neighbourhood for foodie treats. so far our greatest find has been pigeon hole. this tiny spot on the edge of the city is an absolute delight. the sweet and savory snacks can't be beaten and the coffee is amazing. bb & i love it and we haven't even tried their breakfast yet. that is definitely something i am looking forward to.

coffee spot – dr coffee
dr coffee is a teeny shop on collins street that bb & i go to regularly. they also have another spot in salamanca. not only do they have brilliant espresso coffee, great beans and sweet treats – they also do a tuna sandwich to die for.

coffee spot - ethos
this is ethos. it opened in elizabeth street (hobart) a couple of months ago. its one of my favourite coffee spots, not just because they use seven seeds beans (which i love) but because it is such a gorgeous space. you enter from the street via an 1820s carriage way, through a courtyard and into a building that used to house an old pharmacy. it's lovely and cosy and i think its a great spot anytime of day.
