the hunter

have you seen the hunter yet? bb & i recently saw it. whilst it was a lot darker than my usual choice of film it was amazing to see our island home on the big screen. to a degree we felt it was our duty as new tasmanians to get along and support it. margaret & david gave it a big thumbs up so i went along with high hopes which i'm happy to say were met. plus we got to visit the beautiful state cinema in north hobart. something i have wanted to do for ages.

  1. We haven't gone to the movies in ages- I might have to drag Rob along to see this one!

  2. The State Theater reminds me so much of a theater in my hometown. Not so much architecturally but the history. It's an old theater that has been saved countless times by arts lovers and preservationists. It is so lovely and happens to be one of the few things I miss about Nashville. I love smaller theaters because with only a few screens they have to put more thought into what they show. The Belcourt never disappointed!

  3. we hadn't been for ages either - its worth the effort!

julie i completely agree.. half the fun of going to see a film is going to a lovely cinema. there is a beautiful 1930s theatre near in my old home in melbourne.. its called the astor - i loved going to it..it always seems like a grand affair - like air travel used to be!

ali - the hunter isn't too violent or scary (i would be the first to pike if it was)...its really worth going to see tassie in all her glory on the big screen.
