each time i zip up the brooker highway i admire the lovely colourful footbridge that has popped up along the foreshore at elwick bay.

i've been meaning to get out of the car and have a closer look so recently i made the stop and had a peek about.

it's called gasp and it is pretty amazing. it's such a simple concept but so effective. i think room 11 have done a really beautiful job.

cloudy bay

last weekend, bb and a gorgeous friend of ours spent a couple of nights on bruny island. we stayed in a renovated old church and spent our days exploring the island - driving from tip to tip. my favourite spot has to be cloudy bay. i didn't make it to the far south of the island when i visited in summer but i am so glad we got there this time.

mother's day

a few weeks ago bb, mabel and i spent a sunny sunday afternoon at kingston beach. we were helping a lovely friend out with her abc open project... i was asked to respond to the question "my mum is really good at..." this is the end result. happy mother's day mum!

2012 design island showcase

i'm in launceston at the moment. what a gloomy gloomy day it was in the north of the apple isle today. still, the blustery cold conditions made for the perfect excuse to spend some time indoors. 

i decided to pop in to the design centre on tamar street. what a delightful display of tasmanian talent...

as well as the "wood you wear?" exhibition the centre is also now showing the 2012 design island showcase. i think my favourite designers from this years group are mairi ward & nathan freeman (the hatchery). along with a number of other amazing tassie designers, they will take part in the design:made:trade exhibition in melbourne this july.

what an amazing display that will be!
